NCDOT Announces New Chief Financial Officer

This information is regarding the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer at NCDOT.  Please see below the letter from Secretary Tata:

Team,

I am pleased to announce that David Tyeryar will serve as NCDOT’s new Chief Financial Officer, beginning Monday, April 21.

David’s strategic and innovative financial planning, oversight and leadership experience will be critical as our department continues to look for new ways to meet growing transportation infrastructure demands, while facing a continuing decline in traditional revenue sources.

Most recently, David served as Deputy Secretary and CFO for the Virginia Department of Transportation where he helped implement a number of funding reforms to help that state address similar challenges. In that role, David helped pass Virginia’s first comprehensive transportation funding plan in 27 years that provides more than 13,000 jobs and $9.5 billion in economic investments. He also established the office of Public Private Partnerships, which resulted in more than $5 billion in projects, using less than $1 billion in state funds.

David previously served as Budget Director and Accounting Division Manager for Prince William County, VA.

I'm proud to have David join the team. His experience and skills will serve our citizens well and help us to expand economic opportunities.

I also want to thank Mark Foster for his years of dedication and service in his role, helping NCDOT navigate through some tough economic challenges.

Thank you for all of your continued hard work and service to our state. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.

Secretary Tata
