House Bill 817, Strategic Transportation Investments, received a favorable report from House Finance today and is expected to be heard in House Appropriations next week, probably Tuesday.
There was more than an hour of discussion before the vote and Rep. Paul Tine (Dem. - Beaufort, Dare, Hyde, and Washington) introduced an amendment to leave toll projects Mid-Currituck Bridge and Garden Parkway listed in statute to ensure their standing. His amendment passed 17-11.
I continue to hear that the 40-40-20 split of funds will be changed to 40-30-30 before the bill leaves the House.
